Varsity Blues Football Team
The Varsity Blues played their first game in 1877.
The Varsity Blues have won 6 National titles, 2 Vanier Cups and 25 Yates Cups in their almost 150 years of existence.
The Varsity Blues last won the Vanier Cup was in 1993.
Since it’s inception in 1967, there have been four winners. Mike Eben (1967), Mike Raham (1968), Dan Feraday (1981) and Eugene Buccigrossi (1992).
Varsity Blues Football Booster Club
The Varsity Blues Football Booster Club is an organization of Alumni, Parents, and Supporters of the program who are committed to ensuring the success of the Varsity Men’s Football Team and its players in the classroom, on the field and in their future careers.
In the face of proposed program cuts in 1992, the Alumni’s “Friends of Football” mobilized in an effort to ensure the continuation of the University of Toronto Men’s football program. The Varsity Blues Football Booster Club is determined to continue building on its predecessor’s goals and safeguard the program for future student-athletes.
The three main ways the VBFBC contributes to the program are by focusing on Engagement (expanding the network of past and present players and their families), Fundraising (raising funds to support scholarships and other team expenses) and Program support (supporting players before, during and after their playing careers).
There are various ways to contribute either by volunteering your time with one of the groups involved with the VBFBC (for example recruitment, mentorship, corporate sponsorships) or by donating money which goes directly to the Varsity Blues Football program.
