Good Morning Alumni, family, and friends,

I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for supporting our Annual Varsity Blues’ Golf Day. A special thanks to Dave Grose for the beautiful signs and to Tanya Barnett and Darlene Diodati for volunteering their time to help make the day run smoothly. It was an amazing event that brought old teammates back together and helped build new relationships with current Varsity Blues staff and players.

This event has been one of our major fundraisers for the football program over the years, and this year was no different. With over $17,000 in sponsorships and 124 golfers participating, we have raised over $60,000!!
Without all of your support, this would not have been possible.

As for the golf, we saw some excellent scores and shots throughout the day. There was some good golf, bad golf, and I am sure lots of aching muscles.

We had several competitions during the day which includes 2 closest to the pin, longest drive, and tournament champions. After collecting all the score cards and counting the scores, our winner of the tournament this year, with a score of 57 (-13) was the group of Will Corby, Clay Sequeira, Maksim Duric and Vince Luccisano. Congratulations to you all. They will receive 4 tickets to the Labour Day classic between the Hamilton Ticats and Toronto Argonauts. Donated by Scott Mitchell.

The 2 closest to the pin winners were John Fauquier and Ryne Sternberg. They will receive a Varsity Blues helmet to have as a keep’s sake.

The longest drive winner was George Polyzois. He will receive an old Varsity Blues jersey with the number of his choice.

All winners will be contacted directly for delivery or pickup of these gifts.

Once again, on behave of Coach Marshall and the rest of the Varsity Blues’ football team we thank you for your generosity and support.

We look forward to our next event on August 19th ( Alumni and Family barbeque at the stadium) and we hope to see you all there.
